Last week Dad took us out to Dryden for a bit of shopping so naturally we hit up the liquor store because they have more variety there than we do at the store in town. We’re not really big liquor drinkers (except for scotch) but it’s going to be summer soon and we have a huge supply of cocktail shakers, so I decided to get something a little different.
There are so many flavours of vodka now! I thought about whipped cream flavoured vodka, or marshmallow flavoured vodka, but when I saw cake flavoured vodka my decision was cemented.
But what do you mix cake flavoured vodka with?
This one was the Three’s a Party recipe from the Three Olives website — it’s one part vodka, one part club soda, and a splash of cranberry. Good, but too vodka-y.
My favourite combo so far has been one shot of vodka, one shot of club soda, and a splash of pineapple juice. The pineapple seems to cut the vodka taste down so all that is left is delicious cake. Everyone who has tried it so far has deemed it delicious, but dangerous because it’s super sweet and doesn’t taste like it’s as alcoholic as it really is.
What kind of drink would you make with cake vodka? I’m willing to try out recipes!
