iPhone Photo Breakdown

When I got my iPhone I was really more excited about the camera than anything. I’d never owned a smartphone before and all of my phones had terrible 1 MP cameras with no flash that took awful pictures. I also knew about all kinds of wonderful iPhone camera apps, like Hipstamatic and Instagram, and I was eager to try them out.

For the first month or so I was a Hipstamatic fanatic! Nearly every photo I took involved shaking my phone for a random film/lens combo, snapping a picture, waiting for it to load, and finally, sending it to Tumblr. I barely used my actual camera anymore.

These days I’ve been using Instagram like a fiend, now that I know so many people who also use it to share photos. I’m participating in photo challenges, too, and I’ve been using Twitter to share photos a lot. Still, I usually take pictures, share them, then forget about them. A few days ago I actually took a few minutes to scroll through my iPhone photos and realized they really fall into a small number of categories:

CATS

COFFEE

FOOD

I guess I’m pretty predictable! Other popular subjects include flowers (to prove that I get them sometimes :P ), snow, sunsets and sunrises, and photos of my hair when I’m too lazy to get up and go look in a mirror to see if it’s crazy or not.

Most of my photos can be found at Sco0p, my mobile photoblog, and on my Instagram.

What kind of pictures do you take with your camera phone (or real camera)?
