Choice Cuts – August 10

Throughout the course of a week, I usually run across so many interesting articles, recipes, photos and other internet flotsam and jetsam. I’ve decided to share a few of my favourite and most thought-provoking finds, every Friday. I call it Choice Cuts!

Choice Cuts - Northern Exposure blog link roundup

Olympic gold doesn’t define Canada“I’d rather have one more MRI machine, one more spot in assisted living, one less fellow citizen suffering, than a dump truck full of gold medals.”

Half-drag“‘My intention with Half-Drag is to capture both the male and the alter-ego female side of these subjects in one image.”

How Diet Coke Became the World’s Liquid Crack of Choice“There are a lot of ways to give yourself a bone disease, and they are not all as enjoyable as Diet Coke,” Williams says, arguing that one reason it’s so popular is because it’s a publicly palatable way to rebel…”

My friend group has a case of the Creepy Dude. How do we clear that up?“I don’t know how we fix it, but one step has to be to stop tolerating it when it happens to us and when it happens to people we love. Making our social circles and spaces safe means making them AWKWARD AS HELL and UNSAFE for creeps and predators.”

What are your choice cuts this week?

I love the Half-drag pictures and find them so intriguing. And I wanted to read the Creepy Dude story, but the link isn’t working. Have a great weekend!
